Alpha® Ultracut APR Quad Drive Series — Vacuum-Brazed Diamond Blade for Flush Cutting
The Alpha® Ultracut APR Series combines the proven cutting performance of the Ultracut GPM with a unique 20mm Quad Drive arbor designed for flush cutting on angle grinders. The blade accepts the Alpha® Quad Drive Adapter (BAH-5/8 brass or AAH-20 aluminum), which eliminates the lock nut and threads directly onto a 5/8"-11 angle grinder spindle — letting the blade ride flush with the work surface for removing anchor bolts, re-bar and pipe from floors. Available in 4-1/2" (APR45QA), 5" (APR05QA) and 7" (APR07QA).

- Thread the Alpha® Quad Drive Adapter (BAH-5/8 recommended) onto the 5/8"-11 spindle of your angle grinder.
- Seat the APR blade onto the Quad Drive arbor — the four drive pins engage the blade automatically; no lock nut is required.
- Verify the grinder's no-load RPM is at or below the blade's maximum rated RPM (13,200 / 12,200 / 8,400 for 4-1/2" / 5" / 7").
- Wear ANSI-rated safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection; install the grinder's safety guard.
- Allow the blade to reach full RPM before contacting the workpiece, then use light, steady feed pressure for flush cutting.
- Water may be applied to reduce dust and extend blade life if the grinder and application permit.
- Inspect the blade and adapter before every use; replace the adapter's nylon lock nuts as needed.
- For pneumatic cut-off tools instead of angle grinders, use the Ultracut ABM Series.

What makes the APR Series different from the GPM Series?
The APR shares the same vacuum-brazed cutting body as the GPM but uses a 20mm Quad Drive arbor designed for flush cutting on angle grinders fitted with the Alpha Quad Drive Adapter. The GPM uses standard arbors (7/8", 5/8", 20mm) for general cutting.
Is the Quad Drive Adapter reusable?
Yes. The BAH-5/8 brass adapter ships with 4 screws and 2 nylon lock nuts, and the brass body lasts longer than aluminum adapters such as the AAH-20.
Which grinders are compatible?
Any angle grinder with a 5/8"-11 spindle. For European M14-2 spindles, Alpha offers a comparable Quad Drive Adapter.
Can the APR cut granite or porcelain?
Not recommended. Sintered metal bond blades are the correct choice for granite and porcelain.
Can I use the APR for grinding?
No. The APR is designed for flush cutting only, not for grinding.
Can I use a cordless grinder?
Yes, but Alpha recommends a corded industrial angle grinder at the highest rated RPM for best performance and blade life.
What if the safety guard does not seat correctly because of the adapter?
Alpha provides washers to compensate for the offset created by the Quad Drive Adapter so the guard installs properly.
Can I use the APR on a pneumatic cut-off tool?
No — use the Alpha Ultracut ABM Series for pneumatic cut-off tools.
