Description
Alpha® Silencer III Bridge Saw Blade for Granite
The Alpha® Silencer III for Granite is a high-quality bridge saw blade that delivers fast, chip-free cuts on bridge or table saws while reducing operator-felt noise. Its uniquely laminated core — two hardened steel sheets with a thin copper sheet sandwiched between them — absorbs sound waves rather than reflecting them. Three bond formulations are available to match granite hardness: General Purpose, Hard Granite and Soft Granite. Each blade ships with a 60mm arbor and a 50mm adapter, and includes free re-tipping service for the life of the blade.

- Match the bond to the granite hardness: General Purpose (39G) for most granites, Hard Granite (37G) for hard or abrasive granites, Soft Granite (50G) for soft granites.
- Confirm spindle size and mount the blade on a 60mm arbor (use the included 50mm adapter if required).
- Install the blade so that the indicator arrows point in the same direction the spindle turns.
- Verify saw RPM does not exceed the blade rating (14" — 4,365 max; 16" — 3,820 max; 18" — 3,395 max).
- Use the Silencer III for Granite on granite only; do not cut engineered stone or marble — cutting speed will be slower and blade life will suffer.
- Run wet at all times — supply continuous water to both sides of the blade.
- Feed at a steady traverse rate; consult the Alpha® Peripheral-Traverse-Speed Chart for your blade size and spindle RPM.
- For Iron Red and similar dense granites, choose the Hard Granite bond, reduce traverse speed, step-cut, and dress the blade if it glazes.
- When segments wear down, return the blade for free re-tipping rather than discarding it.

What materials does this blade cut?
It is designed for all granite types. Use the matching bond for the granite hardness. It is not recommended for engineered stone or marble.
What sizes and bonds are available?
14", 16" and 18" in General Purpose (39G), Hard Granite (37G) and Soft Granite (50G) bond formulations.
What arbor does it use?
Each blade ships with a 60mm arbor and a 50mm adapter for common bridge saw spindles.
Can the Silencer III be used dry?
No. Wet cutting diamond blades must be used with continuous water to prevent excessive heat buildup that damages segments and the core.
What makes the Silencer III quieter than other blades?
The copper layer in the laminated core absorbs sound waves and conducts them out through the spindle, instead of reflecting them like a solid-steel-core blade.
Which bond should I use for Iron Red granite?
Use the Hard Granite (37G) bond. Reduce traverse speed, consider step-cutting, and re-dress the blade if it glazes.
What is the maximum operating RPM?
14" — 4,365 RPM. 16" — 3,820 RPM. 18" — 3,395 RPM. Never exceed the blade rating.
Does Alpha re-tip worn blades?
Yes — Alpha® offers free re-tipping service for the life of the blade at its New Jersey facility, provided the core remains undamaged.
