- Verify the saw is unplugged and the spindle is locked before mounting the blade.
- Align the 1" arbor of the blade with the saw spindle; observe the rotation arrow on the blade so it matches the saw direction.
- Install the outer flange and tighten the arbor nut firmly with the supplied wrench — do not overtighten.
- Connect water supply and verify steady flow to both sides of the blade before each cut.
- Start the saw, allow it to reach full speed, then advance the blade with slow, even pressure — let the diamond do the work.
- Periodically dress the blade in an abrasive material if cutting slows, to re-expose fresh diamond.

What materials does the BB1201 cut best?
Quartzite, granite, porcelain paver, marble and engineered stone. Optimized for the hardest tile materials.
Can the blade run wet and dry?
Yes. The BB1201 is rated for wet or dry use. Wet cutting on a portable rail saw is recommended for best blade life and dust control.
What is the maximum safe operating speed?
6,200 RPM. Never exceed the printed RPM on the blade body.
Which saws is the BB1201 compatible with?
Optimized for the Alpha® Black Belt Rail Saw (BBS-012, BBS-014) and other 1"-arbor portable rail saws rated for 12" blades.
How thick is the kerf?
2.1 mm — a thin kerf to minimize chipping and reduce load on the motor.
How do I extend blade life?
Maintain steady water flow, do not force the cut, dress the blade if it glazes, and store dry to prevent core corrosion.
Where is the blade manufactured?
Japan, to Alpha® quality specifications.
